the shaft holding the round pieces (throttle plates?) in my carbs were installed upside down from that shop. took me 15 min to figure out why the screws were not going flush into them...

but I'm glad your ski is fixed.

Agreed Dr. Honda...sounds like no one in that shop knew how to use a multi-meter. They prob took it to a different dealer! LOL

Well... Polaris doesn't have the brightest engineers. Basically that Dean's Ultra is the main power coming up from the regulator, and it's the connection to charge the battery!!!! In the factory plug, they used a single "Data" pin to support about 10a worth of power. When I bought the ski, the guy said it wouldn't charge, and the tach didn't work. As soon as he said that... I knew where the problem was going to be. basically, the wires were just cooked in behind the pins.


AND... to continue with Polaris's engineering. On my new RZR, they decided that they needed a fuse in the fan on the radiator. Well... since this was obviously an after thought... they put a self resetting fuse in the harness. Well... where they decided to put it... it makes it under the battery box, where it can get wet with mud, and they just wrapped it with some electrical tape. Basically, the guys with an '09 are just finding out about them, because the contacts are rotten, and they cant get to it without taking the skid plates off the bottom. (MORONS)

Sounds like the same tards that decided that an internal micro fuse should be installed in the baffles on the seadoos...LOL

The problem apparently want that they didn't know how to test it, or didn't test it properly. But the pin was making contact and testing good even though it was broken. After retesting a few times, it finally tested bad. I guess if the pin is broken, and pushed up against the wire, while testing, it'll show contact. I suppose the lesson from this would be, tug on the pins....LIGHTLY?

The internal fuse has a reason. If the sender is hit with power... it will blow the fuse on the board, and not roast the entire sender. (or light the fuel on fire) BUT... they could have made it accessible, and replaceable.

On the RZR... there are 2 fuse blocks they could have put it in... or at least, put it somewhere in the harness where we would know about it. (like close to the fan) The funny thing was that after the issue started popping up, I had to tel my local dealer about it. They didn't know where it was, and on the ATV's, it's up under the front fenders.

Lightly my butt! Give all wires a good tug when looking for an intermittent issue. If the wire is fray, you want to find it. If the wire is good, and the crimp is good... it will take one heck of a pull to actually break it.
