Just purchased a 2003 xp di...been wanting/looking for one of these for quite some time.
Anyowh I got one last weekend.
Anybody have any experience w/this PWC...meaning its reliabilty, common issues, general info, etc...
I've had a 2000 rx, a 96 HX and a 06 Yami GP1300r previously.....but this is my first XP..

Thanks

I love my '02. i've read about reliability / cost issues with the DI, but that doesn't mean it will happen to you. run it till it breaks, then if it does, ask for help :)

make sure your sump pump works, mine has an aux water pump in the back. check yours for functionallity, also check the trim motor.

i replaced the buttons (start stop, trim) on mine from ebay for like $40 with new

I also had to put a new sump pump in mine.

and mine spent a good week under water in the ocean, so it took almost a year to the the sand back out (and a new engine) but now it runs 100% and looks brand new!

I gave my GTX to the wife, and now we both love to ride.
I can't get her off the damn thing!

the 951 di is one heck of a beast. treat it well and it will treat you the same. watch out for water ingestion and the air compresser and you'll be golden.

Water intake I'm assuming your meaning basically make sure that the bilge is doing its job, but what do u mean by air compresser..?

Thanks for all the feedback by the way... :O)

yeah and the 951 is not as "bulletproof" as the other 2 strokes. so people have gotten a good amount of hours out of 951's by fogging if not used for a few days. (of corse the manual say to do after every ride anyway lol). and alot of 98 and on xpl's had a problem where water would get in the hull from the front and get sucked into the air box and into the motor. (idk if they fixed it on later models)

the air compresser is one of the most fragile componets on the di engine. the di system works by using an air compresser to push the fuel into the motor and overcome the force of the motor compression. just a little water on it and it will fry.
