ran ski out of water on hose for maybe total of 6 minutes on and off not all at once, started to notice a rattle/vibration coming from the drive shaft. Took off plastic protector and held washer to pto and vibration goes away. Is this normal and they all do it ? or did i overheat the washer? or will it go away. the machine is a 02 gtx with 104 hours. seams washer doesn't totaly line up with pto , maybe off 2cm. didn't notice this before.

when you run out of water the carbon ring will get hot because it is not being cooled and you will wear out the carbon ring. when in the water the boot holding the carbon ring fills with water and cools the carbon ring. by washer, if you are referring to the carbon ring, it is freefloating on the driveshaft and have play in it. the I.D. of the carbon ring is larger than the driveshaft.

yes i mean the carbon ring seams to vibrate or rattle a little bit at idle which i was turning up and herd this noise afterwards. It it normal to have a rattle/vibration from the carbon ring? or did i over heat it ? will it fix it's self

as it wears you will start to get cavitation and have to replace the carbon ring. if it wears down too far it will not seal against the Stainless Steel Ring and water will leak into the hull. hard to tell with the ski out of the water.

ok thanks for your help , i wonder if it now does it because i raised the idle on it , it used to idle really low. i will lake test it to check. is it normal for the carbon ring and the stainless ring to be off a hair , meaning they don't line up perfectly, seams that when i align them by hand the noise and vibration goes away, is there a way to adjust this?

the stainless steel ring is held tight on the drive shaft by 2 o-rings on the inner side. and held in place on the drive shaft by a o-ring or c-clip on the pto side of the driveshaft. the carbon ring is just held by the clamp on the boot and the boot supplies the presssure to push it against the SS ring. so nothing to really adjust. as long as it is mating flush agaist the SS ring, i think you are good. I think mine are off by a hair too diameter wise.

its annoying the crap out of me , i cant get it to stop rattling , im about to drop the idle down and see if it goes away....

Does the rattle go away when the ski is in the water, and when the ski is above an idle, in the water? If you only hear it when on the trailer, and when in the water at idle. You may just be hearing the SeaDoo rattle, which is normal. When the drive shaft loads the noise will go away.

Ive been told youll smoke the bearings out of the pump too. Running for a couple minutes is fine, then let it rest or check the temp on the pump.
