01 xpl 951 questions?

just bought this and its taking in water from the back from a little hole just below the trim rod and above the bottom right bolt to the back plate? is there a hose that hooks up to that or a plug or bolt that goes in there? i could find a hose that was loose or pumping water out.

also im sure this is asked frequently but looking to make this ski faster but im only a weekend recreational rider. so i still want something reliable with out alot of tuning and tweeking before going to ride. what do you all suggest. cylinder heads, carbs, flame arrestors, and impellor has been what i have seen the most of but what about exhaust and any type of removing of things?

all info would be appreciated.

please post a pic of the hole, so we can help.

If you want a perfect reliable ski... leave the engien stock. BUT... a better ride can be had with an intake grate, and ride plate. Also, speed, or "Out of the hole" can be helped with an aftermarket impeller.
