Found water on spark plugs after winterizing 951 GTX carb

Ok, I just want to make sure I’m following this. The manual says to plug the outlet on the bottom of the engine, disconnect the water inlet, and pour antifreeze/water mix into the engine outlet until it comes out the exhaust. You’re saying don’t do this? My Doo is stored in a garage next to a...

    Brand new engine failure

My understanding is that lean plugs look grey to ashy white. Good plugs look chocolate brown. Rich look oily black. But to get a true reading you must pull the lanyard while running at the speed you want to test. My engine blew due to multiple factors. Ruptured pulse line, using SeaFoam, me...

    951 carb priming

Not sure if it will work for yours, but I have a 99 GTX LTD with a 951. When I rebuilt, i removed the return line , clamped it closed, then I pressurized the fuel system like pressure checking it, This forced fuel through the system. Stop when gas comes out of the return. Now this is from...

1995 Seadoo Gtx project (need help with Carbs tuning).

Also, I would be very careful to lean them out unless you know what you are doing. Lean will kill an engine quick. Most guys I’ve read say that you set the low needle based on low end throttle response. You set the high speed needle based on a run at high speed and pulling the safety lanyard...

1995 Seadoo Gtx project (need help with Carbs tuning).

I am not an expert, but I will chime in. I think the experts here would say that if the carbs were properly redone ( genuine Mikuni parts, proper pop off springs.), the fuel lines are replaced, the fuel selector switch is good, and there are no leaks in the fuel system, then the factory settings...

951 Wear Plan. Run till it breaks or redo top end

Hello, I am having a blast running our 99 GTX LTD. almost 100 hours over the last two years on a SES rebuild. My question is this: do I redo the top end when I notice the compression going down or at a certain number of hours to try to get two sets of cylinders life out of the crank, or do I...

    2000 GTX 951 Restore.

I have modified my 951 air box to allow fogging in about 30 seconds. AYou can drill two holes in the air box and use tygon with a T fitting to fog without removing the air box. I’ll post pix ASAP. I fog after every ride. Just part of my routine now. Ken
