hi,
just got a 717 xp gave to me. it wont start. ran comp. check have 50lb and 30lb. motor blowen???

If those are correct yes, it's a blown turd. Crap another gauge and try. Fuel off, cold engine throttle wide open and fresh battery. Take a few readings per cylinder.

Compression. Should be 150 150. It will run at 130, anything below it's rebuild time

What Adam said as an excellent start (from my small experience with old SeaDoos, just to have the engine turn over is a big plus).

How about a little more info like year of XP (if no paperwork it is the last 2 digits on the Hull ID), history like in how long it has been sitting and in what conditions (outside under a tree in Minnesota would have a different set of problems than outside under a tree in So Calif or Florida).

Lotsa good info on this site and a lot of knowledge willing to jump in and help.

We do not like to give up here, but just in case, where are you located; someone might be interested.

Read what Adam said. I personally have encountered bad compression gauges and no longer will make a serious decision based on compression without checking with 2 or 3 different testers.

If you really do not want to mess with it, I am sure someome on here will gladly take it off your hands and then you wouldnt have the hassle of trying to get rid of it.

sorry, haven't been on in a bit. I haven't tried a new gauge yet. haven't done anything to it.
the other one I got is messing up too.
