Bogging 20mins in

1995 xp 717 runs good for the first 15-25 mins then starts to bog down. Let it idle and then take off again runs good for couple seconds, then it will bog down again. Like it’s not getting enough gas. Was sitting for couple years, what could this be. Should I rebuild carbs, if so what is a good rebuild kit. Thanks

Have the grey fuel lines been removed and replaced? If not, that should be done first. You could try cleaning the micro filters in the carbs first, make sure the high and low speed screws are at factory settings. Take a compression test just to see where the machine is at for wear. It issue still persists, then yes, a carb rebuild would be a good idea. Get the back to OEM kit for it from OSD marine and follow memeber @mikidymac carb rebuild thread.

Also need to check and see if you are getting a vacuum in the gas tank. When it shuts down due to bogging, open up the gas cap and see if a rush of air goes in! That should tell you if you have a vacuum going, if so then check your check valves and see if they are functioning.
