WSM or SBT throttle cable?

Anyone ever tried the WSM throttle cables?

I've heard cables were one thing you could use SBT for, but wanted to hear opinions on those too.

This is the WSM cable. Seems to be pretty much only sold on amazon and you can't link amazon here for some reason.

I've been burned more times than I care to on eBay with ski parts. Oddly enough everything else I've bought on eBay that wasn't ski parts was fine.

I can understand the gun shyness. I think I've only been burned once on a set of cases for a 787. They had pictured a set of 95 787 X cases. Bought them and got them, guy said he must not have had those ones. Sent them back for a full refund less shipping. Later I regretted sending the ones he sent me back, LOL. I buy a VERY fair amount of ski stuff on the bay.


But honestly, you can't get burned on NOS in the bag parts really.

Cable came, is installed, and adjusted. I was missing almost a half inch of throttle pull! My other cable was frayed worse than I thought. Looked to be hanging up even with my massive spring return I installed. So that explains my "run away". Gave my high speed jets just another nudge open. After a bunch of WOT runs for extended periods my mag cylinder was crazy hot compared to the pto. Plugs looked a little lighter than I'd like.

Haven't water tested the new cable but it seems nice and smooth.

Are you saying the mag was hotter than you'd like when the cable was frayed?

And I got a NOS cable on eBay and got it for a good deal as I made the guy an offer then he counter offered and we settled. Doesn't hurt to try..

Yup mag was hotter with the old cable. I don't believe the events are connected.

Yeah makes sense, but it was hotter than I'd like and plugs were lighter than I cared for after a bunch of WOT runs. One pinned WOT almost the whole way across the lake.
