Worth it?

So, I'm never even been within 10 feet of a Sea-Doo before, until yesterday when I found out my grandpa was given a '97 Sea-Doo Explorer. It doesn't run, but the engine looks fixeable, but the seats are pretty much destroyed. He wants to trade it to someone for a trailer, do you all here think it would be a better idea to fix it, or just to trade it? How fast would it even go if I got it fixed up?
 
It's hard to walk away from a free boat... but the Explorer was only made for a few years, and they don't perform like a sport boat.

You would be better off disassembling it, and selling the parts on eBay. Especially if the "Raft" part still holds air.
