... i just purchased a qt of pwc oil.
miamiboy, not all PWC oils are the same. What brand specifically did you buy and what is it's rating. Again, you are looking for API-TC low ash rating.
NOT a TC-W3 rating

miamiboy where do you test at?
I'm going to Markham on Sunday with some other guys
i seached zip and came out south miami.
If it sat that long get all the oil out and check compression.
No need to take engine apart yet i would think.
how would i drain all the oil from the engine?
wow! wtf?? dude really was stuck!
listen man, Ive been thru the ringer with mine, and until you KNOW it is EXTREMELY reliable, DO NOT go out further than you can swim back to shore WITH the ski, unless you constantly have a buddy within site on a ski or a boat...its just not worth it...especially if you're testing it like within an hour before dark...TRUST ME, ive learned the hard way...
Ive also learned, KEEP some sort of tow rope on your ski..cuz you NEVER KNOW..
well if your plugs are loose, thats one problem...
also, are you sure it was FUEL at the back of your seadoo and not water from sitting in the water overnight?
if it IS fuel, i wouldnt try starting ANYTHING till it is COMPLETEly drained and flushed out...
Make sure you dispose of it properly, and DO NOT put it back into the ski...thats just asking for fuel delivery problems...
let us know whats going on...
dj...are you related to Doc? You both give sound advice and live in same area! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Great news about BRP this morning...see other thread.
remove plugs and crank it over until no more oil spitting out. only way I've read.
BTW you should of drained old gas from tank if you didn't.
miamiboy...
I think you need to slow down a little here. Your ski sounds like it has lots of issues, but I can tell that all you want to do it ride. Not only could you damage your machine even further, but you potentially have a very dangerous situation for your own safety.
A ski that sits for 4-5 years cannot just be taken out and ridden. You are going to have to go over the entire machine...fuel system, lubrication, electronics, etc. and make sure everything is in order and running properly. It is what should be expected from a 20 year old ski you bought for $100.
Seems like I have been giving this exact same advice to quite a few people lately.
yes you are right i just wanted to ride it because i never owned one b4 and only rode like twice, but now i dont want to ride unless i know its working good..
i had a buddy of mine take the carb off and clean it. i dont know how well of a job he did, but the same day we were riding for a couple of hours until we ran out of gas.. only rode it 5 minutes since i put more gas in it.
