Just bought a 96 SP last week. It had been sitting for a couple of years but stated right up. Went through a tank full of old gas without any problems. Filled up with some new gas went out for about 45 min and it stalled and would not start up. Dragged it back home and after about 2 hours of sitting was able to get it started again but it was running rough. Went back out and the same thing happened after a half hour. Help, what is going on. With my boat it was water in the fuel. Could this be the same thing or maybe old debris from the old gas.

You are dealing with a 2-stroke. Stalling for any reason can end up with a roasted engine.
Since it's been sitting... one of 2 things is going on. Either the carbs are plugged up, or it's overheating, from plugged up cooling lines.
The gray fuel lines in your ski are know to break down. They probably filled your carb full of green goo.
The over heating thing can happen because the warning buzzers are known to die on anything older than a 98. I've changed the buzzer in almost everything I've worked on that is older than that.
Since it would restart after cooling down... I'm betting you overheated the engine.

I think the problem has been solved. A jet ski mechanic thought I may have put the wrong oil in the oil injector tank. It was Pennzoil TCW-3 2 stroke synthetic outboard oil. He told me that he thought that may have been the wrong oil to use with oil injection. He suggested that I add that same oil directly to the fuel at 50:1 ratio. I did that and let it run for 30min. First thing I noticed that the engine exhaust was burning the oil. I remember not seeing that before. Well no more stalling and it idles perfectly. Thanks for everyone help.
