Why is it I have a check box near some of my attachments to delete, but not all?

I was going through all my old attachments and wanted to delete the ones that are irrelevant at this point ("It's snowing in Texas!!!) and some of my pictures have check boxes next to them allowing me to check them for deletion, but some don't.

Wassup?
