i,m looking to get either a gti155 or a gtx155 around the 05 to 08 age(all i can afford), and i am wondering which would be the better choice as an allrounder.
with the gti, I've noticed some models have a 3 tier seat, while others have what looks like the same 2 tier style of seat as the gtx, and do the gti se' come with a rear folding ladder?
thanks, eric

I have an 09 GTX with the 155 as a second ski. It is the one my spouse and friends ride. It is a GREAT ski.
Super comfortable seat. I think it is what you are referring to "tiered." I own an RTX and if I could put the GTX seat on it I would do so even if it cost 500 dollars. It gives the drive a nice back support, I could ride it all day long and feel great after 8 hrs of use.

The 155 engine is a proven engine. You really can't go wrong with that engine. You can get 400 or better hours on it with routine maintenance. My GTX does have the rear step ladder. The 09 model year is "fly by wire" type controls. No moving cables. I am not sure when they started that off hand.

GTX hands down. Especially in the range of years you mention. The 155 is a solid engine that requires less maintenance than the supercharged models.

yes, i've heard the gtx is a better riding hull, especially for cruising.
is there a preference these days for a forefinger throttle as opposed to
the thumb throttle

with reference to the seating, it seems the earlier gti's have 3 individual seats
unlike the later ones which look much like the gtx style
