Which Info Center Gauges are compatible 98 gtxl

I believe the culprit is the info center gauge giving me my problems. Which gauges can work with my 98 gtxl. I have a 97 gtx gauge but the harness is different but maybe the internals are the same.

Are all the wire colors there. See if they match and if they are all there all you need is the wire pin tool so you can remove pins and reinstall in correct connector. Just take pictures of the wire orientation before you start.

No the wires are different. I compared to a 97 gtx. I will take this gauge apart and look for bad solder joints because sometimes it does work. If that doesnt' solve issue I will need a new gauge. Thanks for replyingt.

you have have a fun time finding that part w/that ski. the 98 was first year, the 99 went to a dual gauge display vs the 3 which I liked more on the 98.

I have a complete set of gauges with hood deflector listed on ebay, I am parting out two 98GTX's as we speak (half the stuff is gone already and its only been a week) what's nice with this is you can pull the complete harness off and just put the new deflector on. (then you can take apart and sell the tach/speedo off your old set)

untested, but if the info gauge doesn't work i'd accept returns, but I don't want it returned if you find out that your problem wasn't the gauge. (I have two 98gtx mpems's as well, nick is programming them as we speak)

Can't info gauge be tested.

There is no way for you to test this gauge first?

You can read the wiring diagram and figure it out though.

There should be a power and ground and then another positive wire for memory.

That mean's give it ground and power to the memory wire which comes directly from the battery on the diagram and then when you give power to the other wire, the gauge lights up.

Black is ground

PURPLE is the switched power

RED/PURPLE is the main power sours or memory power.

That's all you need to light it up.

You would need to short out some wires to go through the modes though but thats not as important as just getting it to come online.

The way that system works on the diagram is that power goes to the speedo over the purple and black wires and then out the speedo and into the tach and then out the tach and into the info center.

Looking at the diagram It looks like the other info centers and the only difference is how they connect.

I just went through this when I added a tach and info center to my 99 GS by splicing into the original wiring.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the MAINT wire which could be just a wire that gets grounded when the mpem senses a problem or it could be a databus wire.
Maybe someone can chime it here.
