wheres the best place to earth starter motor? 1999 GTX LTD

I am having trouble getting my starter motor to work properly, wheres the best place to earth it? as I think this could be my problem?

earth it? ground it i take it? one of mine is from battery to motor, the other goes from battery to starter...on both skis, of course hot goes from battery to starter...i dunno if thats what your talkin about though...lemme know

Sorry yes I mean ground it, that may be my problem, I have ground the starter to the main engine block. I will try ground it to the battery. thanks

yea if you ground the battery it will ground the starter...but you HAVE to have a cable goin from battery to ground or there is no complete circuit, and it wont crank over...
