Where do I put my noodle?

Soooo. I am getting everything ready for the season and have a question. I have never really pulled much but want to this year. I got a sweet new 3 person tube and have to try it out. I fear sucking up a tow rope and ending the fun. I have heard people take those floatable pool noodles and cut a section off and use it somehow to make the rope float. Anyone ever heard of this? I am guessing just a short section on the part of the rope just behind the boat in the water. If so, how do you hold it in place. Tie a knot? Please help me out. Thanks!!!

Sorta like I used. I made 9' long tow whips to pull my hydro trailer. 1"1/4" pvc wrapped in foam, capped ends. I also used thick cable thru it. It keeps the trailer far enough away to tow stable and avoid jetwash from my seadoo. And they float quite well.

Has anyone ever used the wrapper sold at HD as hot water pipe wrapper? I have a rope that floats but I do not know where we got it or what makes it special to float, it came with a tube we got used my daughter just reminded me.

Thats what I used.....Hot water pipe foam insulators. They are thick and heavy duty . Zip tied on and im good to go.

So I still have my original questions...Where do you put it? To get from the back of the boat where the tow eyelet is down to the water is about 3 feet. So if I need it down there in the water, whalt holds it from sliding up the rope? Just zip ties doesnt seem like it would keep it from moving. Also how long of a section do you need, just a couple feet right where it sits in the water?

I use two.

After I rapped My tow line around the driveshaft of My speedster.
The noodle is six feet x2 + 1 foot to make a loop = about 13 feet.
Cut off or untie the end for the boat. Measure 13 feet and tie a couple of
square or grannies. Slide the two noodles on and retie a loop.
I guess one noodle would be enough.
