Tow rope around impeller shaft

Sea doo challenger 180 has a tow rope wrapped around the shaft. Looking for any guidance on how to address and if I am able to remove the tow rope are there any concerns of any seals or anything that could have been damaged. I see what looks like a black gasket by the rope but not sureIMG_0779.jpegIMG_0779.jpegIMG_0780.jpeg

Pull pump off, then remove rope and make sure drive shaft is not bent. Do not try to remove intake grate.

Thanks, are there gaskets by the impeller that may need to be replaced? Or anything else to keep an eye out for?

No, just keep an eye out for any washers or hardware that may fall out when removing the reverse bucket and pump.

I have wound up a couple of ropes on a 1994 GTS -- easiest fix: TAKE SPARK PLUGS OUT, turn by hand from inside the opposite direction that the engine runs (so turn clockwise) until cord is unwound. Keep pulling on cord from bottom as you reverse turn the flywheel. No cutting required. No disassembly required. Should be out in 3-4 minutes. When out, put spark plugs back in. Get back to jetskiing faster. It works best when on a trailer on land especially if you do it yourself.
