Where can i get parts that seadoo no longer sell??

My reverse cable broke on 2001 speeddster LE. I tried to order one through the dealer, part #204-170-044. The informed me today that the part is no longer sold by seadoo, and they have no contact for an aftermarket supplier! So when your reverse cable breaks, you throw the boat away??? Most of the time, manufacturers supply the patterns to other companies before stopping production. I've looked and called everywhere, no luck. Anyone know anytrhing that could help???

Tried that, they also do not have the part in stock and have no idea of an aftermarket supplier. They did give me the number to seadoo customer service, but never actually promised i would in fact, get good service

Problem solved. I called brp corporate to find out exactly what i was supposed to do now they no longer make certain parts, and they could not give out ay details for parts, they said all parts questions had to go through the dealers. So i called some other dealers and got mixed replies of "yes we can get it from seadoo" and "no we can't". It turns out, if the dealer is not licenced to sell seadoo boats, they they are also not licenced to sell boat parts, therefore those that are not licenced have it in their systems that the part is no longer available! How ridiculous! So some Seadoo dealers are not actually "dealers" in my opinion. At least now i know. If anyone else has problems, just make sure they have the licence to sell parts for that craft.

In the "toy" industry most dealers only sell things they have a license to sell... most wont sell atv's but sell motorcycles. or seadoo dealers in Florida won't sell snowmobiles... Jet boat dealers won't sell Pwc's or parts...That's always been common knowledge in the industry for like 30 years now.

I would of bought new seats for my 1995 seadoo sportster. No one had them available as I was willing to pay the price but could not find them any where. people showed the part # but they could not get me the part. I have ran into this problem more than once and in my opinnion one day I am going to be screwd because somthing I need that is important will no longer be available. Very bad on seadoo's end as I will shop for boat that has parts available reputation if I ever buy another boat. wear parts should allways be available and if not than that does not say much at all for the manufacture. :cheers:

:agree:, with that Robin.....myself, I cant keep up with the Jone's, so force to buy toys that people cant fix, or their upgrading. Hate for that day to come, when cant get parts...
