Just picked up a 2000 seadoo lrv a few weeks ago and I was wondering what size the two carbs are. The engine is 951 cc.

Not sure where you're getting your info Lou but I'm sure they are 46 MM.

I'm not arguing with you guys, but looking a the carb. listings (from seadoosource) it appears that in about 1999 Mikuni changed the carb. designations. Like from a BN-461 to a BN-461-42. I thought the -42 meant 42mm, so what is the -42 designation? They also changed the BN-401 to BN-401-38.

I dont care what the book or part number says it is real world experience from working on these skis with 951's and measuring the carbs tells me the 951 uses 46 I body carbs. And the 787's use 40 I body carbs dont believe me get a micrometer and measure them

I didn't say I didn't believe you all I was doing was asking a question. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry if I came off like a jack ass but its simple. I understand what your saying with the part number like bn-46I not 461 is a 46 mm I series carb

Lou I see where u got this mixed up you were thinking the I in 46I was a 1. As far as the 42 number it could mean anything we are talking seadoo when is anything simple to understand.

95HX: Thank's for the apology, and helping to straighten things out. Since all we have are words... it's hard to get the full meaning sometimes.

To All: The 951 engine should have BN-46i carbs. (46mm) The secondary, or suffix on the part number is just an internal code for Mikuni. As far as I can tell..... it had nothing to do with the mechanics of the carb, directly. BUT... a Mikuni rep can find out the OEM specs if they have the full part number.
