Hello guys, ive been having some trouble finding the Mercury Quicksilver PWC Full Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil. My ski says that you can only put Full Synthetic or High Quality Synthetic oil in. is it possible for me to put in Mercury Quicksilver PWC 2-Cycle Oil thats not synthetic. I mean i dont really know the difference, like with my car i put regular oil even though it says it needs synthetic and it works fine. Thanks please help.
i have a 2000 seadoo gtx mill edition

You can only use an API-TC Full Synthetic oil only. NOT just synthetic... it has to be an API-TC oil. A full synth TC-w3 oil won't protect your engine.

If you decide to run something other than the proper oil... it won't be an immediate death... but you will significantly shorten the engine's life.

FYI... if your car engine was making the same power density... you would have 1000 Hp car. (and would need good oil in it)

Most Super Walmart's have it and your local Mercury Marine dealer should also have the Quicksilver oil.

There are also other manufactures just be sure it's API-TC full synthetic, Shorts Marine has the best price I've seen on BRP XPS oil.

Yeah i checked with our local super walmart they had the non-synethic one, they dont have the full synthetic anymore, i guess ill try to buy it from mercury marine dealers or just go to west marine, i would of just wanted to not spend to much

go with amsoil , its not much more than seadoo brand and will help your ski run a long time and it wont smoke any. Go to amsoil.com and order it off line shipped to your door in 2 days. One gallon at $35 lasts me all year long running every weekend.

Wow, that's something, I ride almost every weekend and I use about 4 gals. over the summer.

You're allowed to use any oil you want, and synthetic blend might be O.K., but it's not recommended. Your engine has rave valves and the full synthetic does a much better job of lubricating them. If you get a rave valve sucked into the engine you're looking at at least a top end rebuild. Like the old Fram commercial "pay me now or pay me later". You're only looking at a difference of $10.00 a gallon.
