Hi, I tired searching but couldn't find the specific answer to my question. Hope someone can help me.

I have a 2010 150 Speedster, its equipped with the 255hp engine.

I just found out that the dealer has used the wrong oil when performing the oil change. They used a normal car oil API SN mineral/synthetic that has friction modifying additives which are expressively prohibited for this engine by SeaDoo, stating that it will cause the supercharger to slip. Same as my bikes.

I would like to know if anybody has any experience with this subject? what are the symptoms of the sc slipping because of wrong oil use and not because of wear? how does it feel? or what happens?

Thanks for nay help!

I've never had any experience with it happening to my ski or any ski that I've ridden with. However...i did do something similar to my motorcycle. I changed the oil myself and used regular 10w40 ...instead of expressly required 4stroke motorcycle oil. So...similar results should incur..right?

The check engine light came on...looked like over heating. Changed oil and filter with proper grade...no longer an issue.

WOW, i would insist that the dealer do 2-3 free oil changes and give me at least 1-2 years extra warranty. If they do that, tell them that you won't call BRP.
