What fuel can I use in my sea doo??

Hi guys, I have a 1998 sea doo gti and was wondering what fuel I can use. My manual says a minimum of 87 (regular) but the question is can I use 93 premium fuel. I am going to a cottage this summer and the marina only has 93. Do you guys think it is okay? Thanks alot

Yep, you will be fine, our marina only sells 91 octane, non-ethanol, expensive but works real well.

I've been running fresh 87 pump gas in my 951 paying no particular attention to brand. I make sure it's fresh fuel though, stale fuel is not good for any marine engine and especially a 2-stroke.

A higher octane fuel will provide a slightly wider margin of safety against piston eating detonation, with no negative effects aside possibly from the inherent increase in fuel price. So if you prefer to run a cooler running fuel I feel that will cause no harm or foul.

we talked our local station into carrying 93 non-ethanol. he's right on the road heading up to lakes and everyone stops there. he has a hard time keeping up with the demand in peak summer. i run 93 in all my skis.

But it's how you use that gallon that drastically affects the HP.

Diesel fuel has even more BTU. Too bad that stuff won't work, I like the locomotive knocking sounds with the brown smoke.
