What fuel and waxing

Ok these may be stupid questions (btw my comma key doesn't work so excuse the grammar etc) but what fuel do you guys recommend for a 1996 Challenger? I ran 91 or 93 octane for a couple of tanks after startup last year but after that switched to 87. Is this ok? I don't want to run too low octane but at the same time, with fuel (hey it worked) prices what they are I'd rather not spend on the high octane if not required.
Second question, when you clean your boats, does anybody wax the hull? Any benefit (slippier in water) or is this a no-no. Don't know much about boating so pardon the dumb questions :)

Thanks

Maciej

i think waxing the hull will give you 1-2 mph more top end
(on the flat calm with the wind behind you lol)

First of all there are no grammer police here so no worries ;-)

As for waxing the hull, I'm no expert I'll admit this up front but it is my understanding that you will actually get more efficient by not waxing the hull rather people have said that by sanding the hull makes a boat go faster. I'm not suggesting you sand your hull but the theory behind it is you get more aeration between the hull and water reducing drag.

An example of this theory is found on the knee board we use. The bottom is not slick. Instead its actually got lots of bumps and texture. I guess you can use the golf ball concept too. Who would think that all those dimples would make a ball travel farther.

Go ahead and wax the boat but DO NOT wax the bottom. I explained the reason why in another post about wax on the boat bottom.
