Wear Ring Fit

i ordered a wear ring from sbt and it literally fell right into the jet pump so i ordered another but you still dont have to use a press to get it in although it is snug is it ok to use this wear ring or what should i do

I did my nieces 96xp800 and even with the ring in the freezer it had to be tapped in using a 2x4 across the sides so it would not slide sideways and get jammed, my 95gtx same idea.

it should be a snug, press fit.

This is NOT by the book, but I would lube it in with high-temp red loc-tite, and let it sit overnight, and run the crap out of it. Where is it going to go, when you start to spin the impeller?

Unless it is a quarter inch too small, it won't go anywhere, so run it til it wears out.

:agree:...mines a loose fit, and like Scoop mentioned, it aint going anywhere.
