Heres the story, Guy rebuilt the carbs and to save money I told him not to do anything else. He told me the exhaust was leaking and the square gasket on the exhaust bend was leaking as well. I patched the hole with epoxy but didnt replace the gasket yet. Took it out and it started to die out. Got really hard to start and eventually would only move 2-5mph at WOT. Checked the plugs and they were wet and solid black.
Called the guy and he said there is probably water in the engine from the gasket not being change.
My question is- Will this gasket really cause water in the engine? It seems the only way it would is if the water was leaking into the carbs but there is no water on top or in the hull. Would it be leaking internally through the exhaust?
