Vts blownig the 2 Amp fuse!

Sorry for my english but im from norway

I was out riding my Seadoo Xp di 2004 model on monday then suddenly my instruments went dead!

I changed the 2 amp fuse but it keept blowing out. I found out that, when i disconnect the 2 pin connect'er on my Vts the instruments stays on and i have everything back.
but when i reconnect it, it blows the 2 amp fuse.

Do i have to buy a new vts or can i fix it somehow ?

You have a 3 & 15 in rear box, make sure holders are dry, 2 is on mpem:

Water in trim module? Check the rubber boot.

cant find the 3 and 15 amp fuse in the rear ? Yes is blowing the 2 amp fuse on the mpem

blowing 2 amp fuse

I seem to be having the same problem. my 2 amp fuse on my 2001 RXDI kept blowing and my info gauge was out. I know your not supposed to do this but i was a little frustrated so i threw in a 5 amp fuse, and that kept blowing, then a 10 amp fuse and something started smoking in the back by the battery. I quickly pulled the fuse and left it at that. I sure hope i didnt make it worse. Took the ski to the dealer and they are trying to diagnos it now by ordering a new info gauge. I know its not the gauge because when i threw in the 10amp fuse, the gauge came on before it started smoking in the back LOL Anyway, I will keep you posted on my findings.

By the way, the ski would go into limp mode from time to time when on the trailer. not sure if thats linked to this.

Egg, you gotta short in the VTS. Water intrusion into the vts motor, or short in wire, behind the cover.

I just ran into this problem on my 95 xp 800...charged the battery up...and it started smoking at one point...so I thought it was the battery...my 15 amp fuse in the electrical box blew..so I replaced that and reconnected the battery...it started smoking again...but its coming from the vts...not the battery...I took the cover last time and it was full of water...I know the motor is shot...but it worked fine without it until now. So I tried it without the motor...and it still smokes from the back black box behind where the vts motor is housed...so I disconnected the whole thing...obviously to ski won't do anything unless its connected for mine....probably water in there too huh? Guess ill have to take another thing apart

Thanx guys Seadooya, yes it was saltwater in the in the vts that shortet out the wire's. I orded a Vts trimfix and now it's ok
