Vibration

Hi,

when the moto is running, I see the clamp on the picture vibrating very much. It appears to be a little loose. Should I screw it a little?

it is a XP model 2001

that's the clamp on your carbon seal. It should be just tight enough to keep from leaking. If you make it too tight, it could crack the ring.

It's going to vibrate because the inside bore is bigger than the drive shaft, and it just slips on the stainless ring. If it's out of water... there is nothing to lube it, or cool it.

Running on the hose too long can over heat the ring and warp it. To the left of
your red circle is a grease zerk fitting, put a couple pumps of grease in that til it just moves. Don't over fill. Bill

But only that clamp is vibrating, the other is ok... So maybe I will not do anything there.
