Allright this is a starter project from 5 years ago, 1996 gsx ski, hulls is in decent shape nothing major but inside the engine compartment is iffy, I am somewhat mechanically enclined but already i am looking at no engine and some internals missing. i loooked at sbt and want to pick up the 787 engine to install and start this project. is there any one that knows if this sounds like a good project or should i just find a great deal on a ski and trailer

thanks again for any help

With no engine, you're really looking at spending a bunch. To get an engine from SBT or any other rebuilder you're going to need a core. So you are going to need to buy a used one, carbs., pto, manifold, pretty much everything.

If it were me I would sell what you can salvage and start with a running ski, and be in the water this summer.

It does seem like alot of work. I just picked up a strong running 1995 seadoo xp with a decent trailer for $800. Im sure I could make some money on it if I wanted to.

My brother has a core motor he could send directly to SBT for you....Like $300 shipped. Between the two of us we should be able to get you going.
