using silicone on VTS box- yes or no

Wondering what your opinions are on siliconing a VTS box to keep water out. 2 out of 3 clips are broken and I'm planning on using zip ties to hold it closed but thinking about using silicone on it . Also should you install gasket around the VTS module or in the cover before putting it together. Seem to seal better with it around the module...Thanks

Don't use silicone or you will never get it back off. Use dielectric grease on the gasket and put the gasket on the housing first then the lid on. You can get a new used cover from Westside Powersports Seadoo.
