I've got 96 speedster with twin 717's in it.Had it for a couple of months and the first oil that I put in was the seadoo type. Can I change to a different type?Maybe pennzoil full syn. or keep using the seadoo type? Also how much oil should it be using from the tank.I have ran about 40 gals. of gas through it and its only used a little more than 3/4 gal. of oil.

search here and the topic is covered many times. Quicksilver makes a pwc oil that works. You can find it at most wal marts for 39 a gallon. Mystik oil jt4 works. You just need an API rated low ash oil. IT mixes 40 to 1, so it normally will go through a gallon every 40 gallons of gas.

That's a great price, the dealer here last time I checked was 79.00 for the synthetic BRP oil, I'm thinking of going back to the SeaDoo oil, I use about 2-3 gal. a season.

The Amazon.com link was for low ash 2 stroke mineral oil which is correct for my 1997 Speedster Twin Rotax. If you go to Amazon.com and search for "Seadoo Oil" you will see several choices, but be careful to buy the "correct" oil for you ski/boat application.

I know, I actually use both, I use the mineral in my GTI, and the synthetic in the XP. The synthetic was 45.90 from Amazon (Shorts Marine).

Thanks for the tip.
