Type of Oil

I'd like to continue using the same oil and the previous owner of my 99' Sppedster SK has been using this...the question is what type is it? Mineral, Synthetic. It seems fairly old and doesn't have any type of number that would indicate exactly which oil. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

That's a very old bottle of synthetic. The white bottle was the mineral.

I knew the wealth of knowledge on the forum would prevail...thanks! I'll switch to the newer version. And from reading it looks like I should stay with a synthetic, correct?

Been down this road before, yep, I heard the Doc saying XPS Synthetic..

Yeah I would stick with the synthetic. A lot of people buy the XPS, I stick with the quicksilver full PWC synthetic for about 10 bucks a gallon less.

I checked West Marine at lunch and they only have the TWC-3. I'll swing by Wally World and see what good ol' Sam has to offer. Thanks!!

Here is the specs from seadoo;


Recommended oil and fuel use.

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or Synthetics oil together. Synthetic and Synthetic Blend seadoo oil is a good selection.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.

Something I missed too, is to add methanol additive to the fuel too to help keep the menthol from deteriorating the rubber in the fuel system. You can get a bottle of it at Walmarts of Auto Zone.

Yep...

I put "Marine Stay-Bil" in the fuel of all my water toys a few times a year. It helps keep the water purged out, and things running well.


AND... as an fyi... I use XPS synth blend oil. You can get it for about $32/gal if you buy a case at a time.

For 97 Challenger single will the xps syntetic be what I would want to use? I know the last owner had/has the miner. oil in it
