I just picked up a 2004 seed rxp with the newer style supercharger, bigger injectors and rival exhaust but I want to change the oil, spark plugs, coolant and air filter if there is one, how often do you guys usually do this? ski has 105hrs btw.

I swap plugs and change the oil/filter once a year...or 50hrs...which ever comes first.

wow so this has probably has only had a few oil changes its entire life, seems like it would be more but hey its the way it is. Thanks for the info sir.

Not necessarily...it's 10yrs old...if it's been winterized/spring serviced regularly...you're lookin at at least 10 changes...if it's been neglected...you could be right...hard to say w/o receipts.

When you say newer style charger...what do you mean?

Did you do a test run on the water before you bought it?

....

Oh..no 'sir' here...I work for a livin.

He said he has changed it few times, owned by him almost 4 years had mid 140s in all 3 cylinders on a hot motor after 30 minutes of hard running.
I mean the 255 supercharger to go along with the bigger 42 injectors or something like that.
Water was rough so the trim was all the way down and I managed to get 68mps gps verified, I did notice that the prop needed some loving, it has seen its better days lol.
Alright bud.

Did po install a taller prop to go along with the bigger wheel and injectors? If not...no massaging is gonna help. You'll need somethin like a 14/19 to keep you off the limiter and take advantage of the extra power.

It has a prop, its all shiny but I honestly didn't ask him since when I rode it I didn't hear the ski hit the rev limiter. What is the rpm range I should be at?

If memory serves, the '04 like the '05' limiter should be 8100 with a hard limiter of 8150. What kinda R's were you seeing at wot?

The reason I ask...an rxp w/ xwheel and 42's should be over 70. What kinda air intake do you have?

I will check for sure when I take her out again but I can almost put money it was over 8100 but I have not hit the rev limiter, did hit it once when they ski jumped a wave and as soon as i heard it hit it I let of the gas.
the intake is stock, no newer style intercooler, the water was by no means glass and the trim was all the way down, he did mentioned the gas was not fresh, I just ordered new bro oil, filter and spark plugs to go along with fresh gas I put on today.

okay...at first opportunity...lose the oem intake and at the very least install 4" front. that sc will thank you for it. Save yourself money next time on the oil...Valvoline 10w40 4stroke motorcycle oil, right now is on sale at AdvanceAuto for $3.99 a qt. Also..might as well look at your ring and prop..fresh grease when you do your service.

When you take it out next time....see how fast you hit 8100...how much throttle you have left. You have a gps, which one?

One thing to keep in mind with that ski...it has a smaller tunnel than an xboat. You will see good numbers on glass...but because of the smaller tunnel...your numbers will suffer the faster you go in chop.

Thanks for the heads up on the oil. the wear ring he said was installed over the winter and the prop looks like it needs some work, there is a seal around the hull that is from where the drive shaft exits the ski into the house of it and it looks like it was hit by something and has a chunk missing on the seal. I will start looking for an intake for it. No 255 intercooler needed?

Its an app I have on my I phone but has been dead on with all of the car reading I have done.

I did notice that is does not like the waves hahaha.

The exic isn't required...if you do want one...I'd then really suggest a better air intake. Also if you do get an exic...a taller prop will be required...prolly a 15/20....and I'd definitely suggest a rrfr...(rising rate fuel regulator). If that prop needs work...best hope it ain't hurting that brand new ring. Carbon seal...hopefully ain't letting bubbles into the tunnel....and then letting water into the hull.

Roger that, the ski was in the water for over and hr hard riding at I was surprised how very little water it had, the pee holes on the side of the ski didn't even drip, my gtx, gsi and xp did pee all the time while moving.

I did some calculations and figured that 32 hrs on a Sea-Doo is equivalent to about 8,000 kms on my car. So I suggest changing the oil 32 hrs or once a year, whichever comes first.
