Anybody on here play one of these?

I have played a 4 string since mid-high school, and 6 string regular guitar, electric and accoustic, but after years of wanting a 6-string bass, I got this "entry level" Ibanez.

Anyone want to tell me how to use it?

It is like learning a whole new instrument.

I play 6 string lead guitar, but have no clue on the 6 string bass. I assume it has the same 6 basic strings.

Yup, but I play the really big electric ukulele!

The 6-string bass is actually strung up like a regular 4-string, with the E on top. But then add another lower string above it and a higher string below it. And currently, mine is tuned 5-frets down per string all the way down, but not sure if it needs to be 4 frets on that 5th string like a guitar. I doubt it, as it would play a chord, but it would be 5 notes off the guitar I am playing with... My low string is a B, not an E like the guitar player's top string, so it would be all out of whack.

Like I said, it is like learning a whole nother instrument.

I have a couple 5 string basses. I used to play in bands. I looked at 6 strings but they seems to me for jazz type music. I never needed to play notes that high. I remember I only used the 5th string in 2 songs for one note in the last band i was in.
