I am still having trouble getting my 2002 gtx di running and didn't have it going at all this season but had a little time so decided to jump back into it. I know there are a bunch of threads on gtx di starting issues but I couldn't seem to find quite what I am looking for
Backgroud:
Battery is brand new and fully charged
I had it out on the water after a fresh top end rebuild and it was running great. I shut it down in the middle of the lake just to check everything out and could not get it to turn back on. Someone suggested a new fuel pump so I put one in.
This seemed to help a little but I must have gotten some water in the cylinders while testing it on the hose. I took the cylinder head off and removed all water. put the cylinder head back on and still no start. just turns and turns.
If I put a little fuel directly in the cylinders it will run for a second til it burns that off.
I wanted to check the reed valves as I read somewhere water in the cylinders can damage them. I removed the boots but can't seem to get the reed valves to come out does anyone have any tips for this? Also, could this be a possible cause to a no start
I tested compression and though it isn't perfect it is 120 in each cylinder which I assume would be enough to start.
When I put the key in I get the two beeps and can hear the pump priming. The cylinders then smell like fuel so I assume it is getting it. I did an ohm text across the terminals of each of the fuel injectors and got 1.7 for both. Is this normal? Also is there a way to test if fuel is coming out of the injectors by unbolting the rail and seeing if fuel shoots out the injectors? (with wires grounded of course)
Also, is there an easy way to test the air compressor? I can't seem to find much info on that.
I apologize for the long post but I am fairly new to seadoos and hopefully any and all info provided will help me and others in the future.
Thanks in advance
