Just a quick note check your trailer axles esp. where the u bolts and leaf springs are. This is where then tend to rust out.
I unfortunatly had the axel on my double place trailer break, as my family and i were on our way to Rhode Island for vacation.
If you have a karavan trailer and you do need parts and you are in the northeast give Robert enterprises in Brookfield MA a call the are the best. They are the northeast MFg. for Karavan

Well.... that sucked. Sorry for the prob on your trip.

But, it does bring up a good point about checking trailer bearings once in a while. Especially in a salt rig.

Did your bearings give out or axle break? While working on mine this weekend i noticed alot of rust on the weld where the brake backing plate attaches to the axle. Enough rust to where it is flaking off in chunks. I will be buying a new axle soon I guess. Mine showed signs of being in salt water in the past, so there is a lot of rust. I just got though replacing all spring hardware and springs are on order.

That does suck.

Fix it and drive on. Pretty much all you can do.

My new trailer does not have bearing buddies. It will as soon as I measure the hub,,,

i have went the new "posi lube " axle on my trailer last year when i blew a hub, what it is , is a drilled spindle and you pull off a rubber cap on the dust cap, and simply lube the fitting that is on the end of the spindle, this shoots grease right into the inner bearing, packing it, and clear out to the outer bearing, till grease comes out, then put rubber plug back on, 2 more months will be a year with this system on my trailer with no issues, (and in salt water just about every weekend) -- i changed whole axle, all bearings, 2 hubs, dust caps, seals, and u bolts for 190.00 -- all the new trailers have this, (the new 4 tech guys know) bearing buddies are ok, but in my case, i wanted to upgrade it all ............ here is the thread i had from last year ...http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?57194-pretty-ugly

These are coming more and more popular. I guess I assume mine are traditional, haven't looked at them well enough to know for sure.

If I do need to replace a hub I am certain I would convert over if they are the traditional style.
