Good Deal

Looks like a good deal, it's about the going rate, at least where I live.

There are some things you can check.

1. Check the compression, compression should be about 150psi and no lower than 130psi, with a difference of not more than 10%.

2. Does the ski still have the grey tempo fuel lines? This is not a deal breaker, but plan on spending around $150.00, if you do it yourself, to replace the lines, filters, selector switch, and maybe overhaul the carbs.

3. Visually inspect the wear ring, check for chunks missing, and excessive wear, clearance between the wear ring and impeller should be not more than .040", while you're there look and the impeller for any dents or dings. Again this is not a deal breaker, if you do it your self plan on spending $50-60.

There are threads in the articles section of this forum on how to do both 2 and 3.

4. Ride the ski, does it accelerate smoothly and quickly. It should plane fast and ride straight and true with little vibration. After your ride check the hull for water, a little water is normal, as the ski is not completely watertight around the front storage compartment.

Hope this helps.

That price seems pretty low to me. Have you contacted the seller and heard anything else?

I would think so. I answered an ad on craigslist TN when I bought mine similar to this one. They contacted me and told me that they had put it on E-bay. I could buy it, but would have to put down a $500 depoist before I could look at it. I did not do it. I ended up paying $3000 for two 95's on a double trailer. 2800 for a 2006 seems like a scam.

???????????

When I looked at this originally a 97GTX came up now the link is pointing to a different ski. The original was white and purple, was I dreaming???

This does look too good to be true.

This might be a scam, a friend of mine tried to buy a pontoon, what it actually was a pontoon trailer, beware. Be sure the seller has a title to the ski and trailer, and check VIN numbers, also make sure there are no liens on the ski.

All is not lost you can still use the info. in my last post, it's pretty much true for all SeaDoo's.

The first tip off that it's a scam is that the email isn't' linked to Craigslist. It's a link within the post. Also, since the book price is 3x what they are asking... that would be #2. And finally... if you goggle that title, it will com up in other cities... that's #3.

There are deals to be had, but it's normally on older stuff... or stuff that needs love. When you have a 3 or 4 year old ski in good condition... why would anyone sell it cheap?
