Hi Guys,
On my 1996 Challanger I find that the throttle contol wont stay foward. When I accelerate I cant take my hand off the control or it will slide back down to idle speed. Any thoughts?

Tensioner...

There should be a tensioner that can be adjusted. If there is, it will be under the control lever unit. I can't see there being anything on the carbs to limit this..........
I'll look in the manual shortly for you.

The throttle tensioner is under the plastic plate and on the side of the control assy. You have to remove the plastic plate with 4 screws, than the 4 screws that hole the control levers down. On the outside is a counter sunk screw that adds or loosens up tension. adjust it accordingly till it is at a comfort to you. Use neverseze on the screws in case you have to remove it again. It will prevent the screws being seized up/ or corroded.

Thanks guys, I'm going to the boat today and will try your fix.
