Hello,

This is my first post here. There seems to be a knowledgeable group of people in this forum so i figured I'll seek help here. I'm thinking of purchasing a 2011 GTI SE that I found online. It has 20 hours on it which were in salt water. I'm concerned about the salt water hours. The owner said he flushed it after each use but I'm wondering if it would be wise to purchase a sea doo which was only used in salt water. This will be my first ski and I only plan to use it in fresh water. The ski is over 3 hours away so I'm not sure if I want to make the drive unless I feel confident that I will purchase it. Any suggestions or comments on what I should do.

155 hp motor is a very reliable motor 20 hrs is not much ever in salt water look at engine compartment if all the bolts are still clean then he did a good job flushing it also ask if it was ever salt water prep'ed by dealer , that is when they take apart ever electrical fitting and apply extra dielectrical grease to all of them hope this helps

Thanks for the response. It's the 130 version so it's not as powerful as the 155 but I think 130 hp will be enough for my first ski. I really planned to buy an older ski but I love the new body style and would like to have IBR. Ill check on the things you mentioned.

Some of the 2011's had a timing chain recall so make sure that the recall was done or that the HIN of the unit was not part of the recall.

That ski has a closed loop cooling system. Which means the oh place the salt water would touch is, the hull, the impeller, and run through the exhaust. With only 20 hrs the ski should be like new. Just head the advice on the timing chain. No cost to you if it hasn't been done, just a matter of get g it do e.
