Hello..........I'm thinking of buying an 07 GTI se 130...........
it is in very good garage kept condition and physically seems fine.
I'm not able to get it in the water but, the engine sounds good and starts right up from cold.
The ski has about 87 hours on it.

Can someone please let me know if there are trouble spots with this model and what I should pay for it aside from any trailer.

I would really appreciate the feedback as this is my first ski and I rely on the knowledge of people in the know.

Thank you :)

The ski has a decent amount of features on it, but not so many that it was an expensive ski when new. The 130 engine runs pretty well considering it size. By comparison, many skis come with 215 and larger as a standard engine.

The one thing I would NOT do is modify the engine. It really is not set up to accept the hardship of being modified. This ski will give you plenty of years of use. And,,, it will cause you to spend money later as it will tease you in regards to speed and performance. So,,, enjoy the ski for a while KNOWING you will spend more money later on a different ski with a larger engine..

You will like the ski, it rides well and runs well.

thank you for the reply........with 87 hours and 8/10 condition....it is going for ,3900. Thats the high end of book but I figure the hours are pretty low......?? If well kept...how many hours could I expect from this?

The 4-tec engine is very well proven. Thousands of hours is normal with regular maintenance.

As a general rule, you NEVER,,, I repeat,, NEVER buy a ski without a ride and drive. Once in the water, you need to ride it for 30 minutes. If nothing presents itself by then, then normally all is good.

I would expect in the FL market for that ski to cost around $4500 if in nice shape and good running condition. Not sure what book your looking at that has that at $3900 on the high end but that's not reality this time of year. That is a great ski and no real problems and should go to at least 800 hours if maintained properly. The timing chains and flywheel bolts in 07 were suspect but doesn't really affect the 130s.

I have the same ski and at the time of purchase, I got it for $4k even (52 hrs.) with the trailer. As Coastiejoe stated "Enjoy the ski for a while KNOWING you will spend more money later on a different ski with a larger engine". I purchased mines not knowing whether or not I would have the time and/or enjoy riding it. I have had it for a year now and I'm ready to upgrade to more horse power...etc.
