support ring and carbon ring

I believe my c clip broke allowing the support ring and carbon ring to move towards the engine. I have a 2006 sportster, 215 HP. Space is tight. Any idea how to get this bad boy back in place. I'm thinking I need to take to a dealer to pull the engine.

push the steal collar toward back of ski, and install clip, onto groove of driveshaft.

Right... but how. Space is really tight in the boat and I am not strong enough to overcome the seal and backing plate resistance, plus compress the boot. I'm sure I could do it if space wasn't so tight. Just can't get enough leverage.

ball joint tool

I've heard a ball joint tool might work. Anyone tried it?
