Hey..

It seems that the Supercharger has broken down. I have no power left in my RXP -06 43 hours. Can it be the ceramic washers?

Do any body now whats happening when the washers breakdown?

Sorry for my bad english typing.

Thanks for all help

When the ceramic washers break down it also takes out the oil pump. Is it throwing any codes? beeps or anything in the info center? Do you have a seadoo shop manual. You could repair this yourself, if you mechanically inclined. You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and privet use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Premium members get priority when it comes to getting quick detailed answers.

Most likely washers if you take the air intake loose and can spin the fan blades then yes it is washers and you will have to pull the engine and clean out all the pieces of ceremics. hopefully you have a warranty

Metal Washers are under $90 and $50 to install so anybody with a supercharged 04-05-06 Seadoo is running on a time bomb, somebody else may know I think they switched to metal washers in 07

Yes i can spin the fan blades. My Warranty went out in june, so it seems that this is going to cost a lot of money then?

And the swedish summer has just arrived.. I have to wait 5 weeks at a local seadoo dealer to get some help.. Not so funny..

Thanks for the help

The metal washers were replaced by seadoo in all models in 2008. You could change them yourself for a fraction of the price, with a manual in the seadooforum library...see post #2 it's like $10.95 get the manual than cancel it after 1 month...I haven't found a manual any cheaper. I bought a Paper seadoo manual from a seadoo dealer, cost me $80.00 USD, because I wanted to have it boat specific for my boat, and it wasn't loaded in the seadooforum library yet because it is a 08 model.

We'll be here to walk you through it if you get in a bind, if you decide to repair it yourself.

So if I buy a 2008 model I'm OK?

Karl,

First let me say I've been doing alot of reading in this forum and your a wealth of information!

Can I assume that the 2008 Challenger 180 I'm about to buy will have the Steel washers from the factory? Is it still recommended to run only the Mineral based Seadoo oil?

Craig

I believe as I have been told, is that the "08" Models have the new Steel Washers in them. You should not use synthetic oil in the Super Charger models. Use the 10w 40 mineral.
