Hi All:

I am truely stunned by the rude, arrogant, and complaceant demeanor of the two dealerships I have encountered here in Ohio.

Bought my new Speedster 150 in northern Ohio. When I went to pick it up, it wasn't even on the property.... they brought it in from another location. Waited for about an hour after my appointment time to even see the boat. When it arrived, it had not been cleaned or preped. Another hour and a half waiting for that. Then, they didn't have the "correct" paperwork...... come back tomorrow.

But, the real killer was after I had just written them a check for the 10 hour checkup. I asked if the service guy would take 30 seconds and simply show me the water flow from input to exhaust (myfirst Jet boat). His quote ? "No, because if I do that, you won't bring the boat back if it needs work". I suggested that after that remark, he wouldn't have to worry about me bringing the boat back for even a 5 cent washer.

This week, as I was spending money on parts, filters and anti freeze at Dealership number 2, I asked where the specific place was that I was supposed to pour the anti freeze. His response ? He literally turned his back on me and walked away and into the back room. I was completely alone in the dealership, and could have walked off with anything in the store short of a boat.

On my worst day, I couldn't imagine running my business that way ! What's up with these guys ?

It's kinda like going to a bad restaurant...Don't go back. You have a good product, and you found this forum so your on the right track. We have a "Parts" link for parts and products at a fair price, and people here on line to help you with service and questions. We can do most all a dealer can do, but you won't get the aggravation the dealer gives you. We have 26,000+ members...How many dealers can boast that many customers. Sorry you got the run around. I wonder how long before the dealers open their eyes and start appreciating their customers...maybe after the seadoo forum offers watercraft at a reduced price to it's members?

jbacon, Since I'm also in northern Ohio, I'd be curious what area of N. Ohio you're reffering. If you're talking about the Port Clinton area, I bet I know the dealership you're talking about cause I've had similar experience. Also, I can refer you to someone I found who does great work at a very fair price. His only problem is he's kinda off the beaten path. But worth the trip.

jbacon, Did you get my PM? I tried to reply to your's but got timed out and I think it got lost. I sent you the name and other info on the mechanic I go to.

I'd go have an coversation with the manager and BRP if that had happened to me. I just had it out with Sirius the other day. The lady kept talking over me and was plain rude. I asked for a supervisor and she threw me back into the queue and deleted all my information from my call. You need to bring this to the attention of people who actually cares.

In this case it was just easier to find the person who cares. The mechanic I told jbacon about used to work for the company he had a bad experience with. The mechanic got tired of their way of doing business and went off on his own, opened his own shop. Now he's busier than he can handle and does great work.
