I have searched the threads with no success. How do you remove the steering wheel? I have removed the face plate and the retainer nut. Should the wheel slide off? Or am I missing something. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff, to remove the steering wheel, you'll need to get a puller to remove it off the sheering wheel shaft. Try to rent one from like Auto Zone.

I don't think your local auto parts store will have a puller for a boat. The problem is, there are no threaded holes to put a std. puller in.

If you get yourself a helper... have him/her pull the wheel... then put the nut back on, but only part way. Then tap lightly with a hammer. The vibration should help it pop off. Make sure not to hit it too hard... or you will damage the gear box, the shaft, or the threads.

Good luck
