Looking for the OEM Seadoo part numbers for 95 XP800 and 96 XP steering cable rubber seals. I'm getting conflicting answers from research. Do these 2 skis use the same part numbers? if so what are the correct seals. Bought a new cable and it came without them, and want to replace the small ones on a couple skis i have. Usually the large ones are ok, its the small ones that crack or get gummy.

One source I find says use these small and large ones, 2 ea. per end of cable:

Large Boot Part Number: (SEA DOO 277000473)
Small Boot Part Number: (OLD P/N 277000028) (SEA DOO 277000466)

Then the OEM part fiche for 96' XP says:
Large Boot: 277000277
Small Boot: 277000278

Anybody want to clarify?

Thanks,
Rob

I think i see now what is the dealio, down by the nozzle end of cable that is in the water it should be these on a 96' XP:

large boot: 277000039
small boot: 277000038

then under the handlebars end of cable inside the ski:
Large Boot: 277000277
Small Boot: 277000278

are they still available?

So far all part numbers are avail. These suckers are expensive for what they are. I'm going to look at some of my cables once i'm home to see which ones i need. I know all my large boots are ok, but the small ones by the handlebars inside ski get gummy from the grease and humid environment, and the small ones in water by nozzle end of cable are always the worst ones, and crack upon removal or aren't even there ha.

Only thing I dont know is if 1995 xp and xp800 are the same part numbers as 1996 xp. I am looking through my browser bookmarks for the parts fiche that goes back to 1995' i had it marked because all the other fiches start and 1996 and newer.

hlsm.com is what you are looking for. they are the same. Might be worth contacting a flex-cable company I bet you could buy a bunch super cheap.

Thanks for that website, it has em all. So here is the breakdown, my original source was correct for the 95' XP800. Plus i think I answered my other question about 95 XP and 95 XP800 steering cable differences. Will get to that at the bottom.

1995' XP800 Steering Cable Boots

Both ends of cable use the same large and small boots, so one ski requires 2 ea. of below:
Large Boot Part Number: (SEA DOO 277000473)
Small Boot Part Number: (OLD P/N 277000028) (SEA DOO 277000466)

1995' XP Steering Cable Boots

Either end of cable do not use same boots:

at nozzle end in water:
Large boot: 277000039
Small boot: 277000038

then under the handlebars end of cable inside the ski:
Large Boot: 277000277
Small Boot: 277000278

1996' XP Steering Cable Boots

at nozzle end in water:
Large boot: 277000039
Small boot: 277000038

then under the handlebars end of cable inside the ski:
Large Boot: 277000277
Small Boot: 277000278

So 95' XP 717cc ski and 96' XP 787 ski use same cable boots in conclusion.

But different cables obviously because of pump extension on 95' XP. Which brings up my other question that I believe I answered looking at parts fiche. The 95' XP 717cc has a cable that is longer than the 96' XP 787cc because of pump extension, but the 95' XP800 has a similar 4" extension setup ( made out of plastic vs. metal ) but uses a different part number cable with different length and different length throw. The only thing I can think of is the 95' XP800 has a heavier duty larger gauge cable for racing purposes so it doesn't bend and deflect while riding hard in turns. I recall reading a thread about racers bending the cables on built moto skis with pump extensions in the 90s and were sourcing an even better, larger gauge aftermarket cable to prevent this bending during the races.

Tonka have you ever used a 95' XP 717cc steering cable on one of your built skis with pump extension? Curious,
