2000 rx carb, it does this once in a while. that last time it did it i could not get it to turn off. lanyard off, turn the ski on then off, run it around hopefully it would go off, but finally it died. it happened before to me but all i did was start it back up then kill it. what would cause this?

Pulp...First all, what starter are you using to replace it. If its the cheapo ones off ebay or the internet, that is your problem. Get your oem starter rebuilt.
