Speed sensor questions

so the speed sensor is not working in my XP. So I found one that thet say is for a "96 GTX GTI GSX XP" From the pic it looks like it is a 3 wire but I'm not sure I waiting for the owner to get back to me. But would that sensor work on my 97 and I just won't use the temp sensor wire?
Also it is cheap because the paddle wheel is broken on it but the paddle wheel on my sensor is fine, can i swich the wheel from my sensor to that sensor? and if so how hard is it? I see that you can buy just the paddle wheel so it should be possible.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, I'm sure someone will.

The reason I responded is we don't see many Uper's on this forum, I've got a really good friend who lives in Charlevoix, MI. He tells me you all got two seasons, winter and the 4th. of July. Bet you're tired of hearing that one. Anyway didn't mean to hijack the thread, but just wanted to say hi.

the 96 speed sensor system is different than the 97, the 96 is a three wire but is not a water temp type. you can use almost any speed sensor from 97 to 03 and they may be a 3 wire water temp but you just won't hook up the tan water temp wire.

not hard to switch paddle wheels, just carefully remove the little pressed on washer on one side.
