Can I be the first to say how much of a joke the EPA is and how much of an &@$&@@@& they are. Honestly how much could some of these engines pollute in a ski.

It's hard to believe back in the day it took a 1200 triple to get 155 HP with open cooling. Now an 850 can get 165 in a sled.

It's direct injection. In these circles, it might not go over to well...quite a few DI haters here. :)

From the looks of it there is some older DI technology integrated into the new Etech technology.

I don't understand how sleds can still have 2 strokes like this yet not PWC. I would think that the emissions out of that 2 stroke are cleaner than any 2 stroke before it, and any pollutants are still coming out the tailpipe and onto the ground. An argument could be made that they are also still getting into the water supply because as snow melts, it takes the pollutants with it. Or maybe I don't understand something obvious.

The reason is the skis dump their exhaust and oil directly into the water causing pollution. At least that is what the bad science that the EPA and environmentalists said and used to get them banned and then later disproved although never reversed. Pretty hot topic as you can understand.

Oh and don't forget all those 2 stroke outboards that have always been legal and don't pollute the water like those filthy PWC's.

I agree, the whole ban on 2-stroke PWC is a bunch of crap. I think it has more to do with noise (which is ironic since they aren't any louder than an outboard from shore) and "feelings" than actual science.

This is far-fetched and I'll probably get ridiculed, but maybe with Trump in office the EPA will get its pee-pee smacked HARD and maybe we'll see some of these pointless, baseless regulations removed.

We were the scapegoats and had the smallest lobby group so the EPA said basically if we ban PWC's will that make the environmentalists go away and they said yes so there you have it.

Don't forget the old farts that hate them running up and down the lake. Like that sailboat guy in Florida

Sweepstakes announcer: "what are you gonna do with this sled in north carolina mr. whiskey?"
WhiskyD: "rip this biach apart, shove this motor in a x4, take it straight to BRP, and say why the f not? whats your spark got on this?"

If he gets it quick he can ride it here in the great white North Carolina!... (9" of that weird white stuff this weekend and it was 6 degrees this morning!) Crap, bring back global warming!

I hate missed going around doing $20 pull-outta-ditches cause I was in colerado, the place for a sled isnt around here

Read about our correct Sea Doo Oil. Most of the cost of the oil. Is the additives, so it does not pollute. Designed to disperse and be consumed by natural elements. The oil will not cause damage to the environment. One of the experts on oil posted this in the past. After I read that post. I went to my repair testing lake. One ski had a little oil leak. Put them on the trailer. Opened the bilge drains. Got some oil out in the drain water. Caused the rain bow on the surface. Old guy, fisher man is standing there. He starts complaining. I put pollution in the lake! I told him watch what happens. Within 1 minute, it dispersed, gone! The additives did their job! I explained it to him what happened. Which made him happy to see we try not to pollute!

I would do it in a heartbeat, but i think it's going to be too tall of an output shaft for the x4. Also, i wonder about the corrosion resistance of it. Seems that that output shaft is just carbon steel. Not sure how watertight the mag chamber is on these, or what kind of pto it has. Would probably need a custom driveshaft. I think it would go easier into a 720 hull, as it has the 4 symmetrical mounting points. Would be s worthwhile project as i bet this would be easier to adapt than a 4tec in an xpdi
