I had my 1998 1800 Sportster serviced about a month ago both engines & now seem to have a small oil leak coming out of starboard jet. Can I refill oil & if so how, will I need to purchase shop manual? I bought this machine almost 3mths. ago in almost mint condition only had it serviced for peace of mind now have oil leak. The shop I used was impressed with the condition of this machine, but don't act like they want to review problem without another service charge. Coul it be just loose oil plugs, more familiar with outboards than jet drives.
Thanks, Double Trouble

Welcome to the seadoo forum DT. Look to see if it is just a loose allen cone plug, or something. It might be cracked too. Of it is the cone you might want to change the oil out so it won't kill the bearings. Figure out where it is coming from and re-post so we can give you good adviseas to what to repair or replace.

sounds like even if it was their fault they would not own up to it and still charge you ! again giving they rest of us a bad name . they should look at it free of charge since they were the last ones to mess with it .

It's quite easy to pinch the o-ring when putting the cone back on. However the leak may not be a leak, as when removing cone to change oil, it's quite possible some oil ran into pump and it's just dripping residual oil. Wash it out and then see if it's leaking.

Leaking starboard jet drive

Hey thanks for the info I'll give a good washing & then recheck for leak. New to the forum so still trying to get the layout on posting.
