Ski won't start, please help...

Hi all,

My ski wouldn't start today.

The battery was flat when I went out so I jumped it from the car (car engine off) and it started fine.

Got to the water and tried to start it and nothing, just a click from the rear end somewhere.

I get a double bleep but when I hit the starter it shuts off completely, clocks and everything.

Can anyone suggest what I should look at first ?

Sounds like you need a new battery. Pull it out and take it to your local auto parts store to have it tested.:cheers:

I hope I am not overstepping with this advice, but I recommend that you knock all that snow off your ski, before you try to ride it! And, they don't go good in snow, even if they are a SKI!

And, Gibbo1974, a second on that clean the bat cables. :agree:And, I recommend that you add a little pat of grease to the ends of the bat cables, and all in the little bolts that hold them on. This will make the connections a bit better. And, remember, so long as the bat cables are hooked up, the computer will cycle, looking for the DESS key, and will drain the batt in a while. If you are not using it, unhook the bat, and place it on a batt tender.

Like Rookie said, your bat may have gone bad. Long slow drains on the bat, that knock them flat tend to hurt them.

Hi guys.

Thanks soooooooo much....

It was a dodgy positive connection.....

Couldn't believe it, tightened the damn thing up at the beach but got no result, it's really clean and free from any corrosion so I thought I'd bypass it and try something else, then gave up and went home :ack:

Got home, posted up this thread, got my reply from you guys and went back to the garage for a re-trial.

I put the key on and nothing, no bleep, no clocks, nothing!!!!! grabbed the posi cable and wiggled it and what do you know ? she started bleeping away like crazy....

held it on tight and hit the button and BANG ! she fired straight up.....

BACK IN BUSINESS !
