Quick question (I have search the site but don’t know what to put in as a search as couldn’t really find anything) I have a 2000 GTX RFI and want to do my own service. I have a manual but don’t actually find it that informative re servicing. I service both my cars so am capable within reason. As it’s a two stroke there obviously isn’t an oil change involved. I use good fuel and top of the range recommended oil. However apart from the spark plug change I understand there are a couple of grease areas but I am buggered if I can find them, as mine looks different to the book. Any suggestions please on what is involved or when the grease points are. Thanks.

Service

There's really not much service to do. There is a grease fitting on the PTO flywheel, there is a plastic cover/shield at the rear of the motor. Loosen the 2 wing nuts, you'll see a grease fitting on the flywheel. The manual says use synthetic marine grease (I can't find it), my dealer advised me to use regular marine grease.

Just make sure the injector oil is topped off, and the spark plugs are clean and gapped. Thats about it.

Thanks Lou, I thought there wasn't much and often wondered why they wanted $200 for a service on a two stroke.
